University of Rochester Wilmot Cancer InstituteLymphoma - Ambulatory - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York
Full Time position available. Monday through Friday, primarily daytime hours
This is an opportunity for an APP to join the interdisciplinary team at the Wilmot Cancer Institute in providing care to patients with lymphoma. Responsibilities include evaluation and management of acute illness and chronic symptom management, follow-up, coordination of services, and family education. This opportunity also includes the development of proficiencies in procedures such as bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture, chemotherapy administration and the basics ofclinical trial enrollment. Excellent organizational and team skills are essential. Must be NYS eligible for NP certification.
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
