Wilmot Cancer Institute - Leukemia - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Responsibilities
This is an opportunity for a motivated APP to join a distinguished Malignant Hematology practice at the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Responsibilities include: evaluation and management of acute/chronic illnesses, ordering/interpreting/communicating diagnostic tests and results, hospital/ED follow-ups, facilitating coordination of services, and patient/family education/counseling. The APP will have the opportunity to develop proficiencies in procedures including bone marrow biopsy and chemotherapy orders/administration. The APP will have involvement in clinical trial accrual. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential with the ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative. The APP will work as part of a comprehensive team and provide cross-coverage as needed within the group. The APP will work closely with nursing and ancillary staff to ensure triage of in-basket and patient calls.
The candidate must possess NYS NP/PA certification along with licensure prior to hire/start date.
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
Physician Assistant
Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $ 92,997 - $139,506 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
