FT Position Available, 8 hour, Monday-FridayResponsibilities
Wilmot Cancer Institute is seeking an interested registered nurse to join the growing Non-Malignant Hematology team. This nurse will be specially trained to provide infusion care for patients with blood diseases like: Bone marrow disorders, Von Willebrand disease, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, Hemoglobinopathies , Anemia, Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Bleeding Disorders . The infusion nurses will be comfortable in blood transfusions, monoclonal transfusions, Iron infusions, just to name a few. Hematology nurses are detail focused and skilled at assessing labs, coordinating care and assisting in procedures. This trained nurses will work closely with an established group of Nurses, APPs and Physicians including a Non-Malignant Hematology Nurse Navigator. Good communication is critical in coordinating care across the continuum for these patients along with flexibility in meeting the patient needs in the office. This is primarily an infusion position but may need to flex into the clinic if needed in order to understand how to provide comprehensive care to this patient population. We are currently undergoing renovations to transition this busy practice to their newly renovated office at Lattimore in 2022.Qualifications
Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience. This position assumes the charge nurse role, actively participates in unit/service activities, supports co-workers, and assesses unit needs.How To Apply
