URMC Neurology - Neuro Muscular Specialty - Registered Nurse, Level II

Responsibilities
RN to join a diverse and dynamic neuromuscular team, supporting physicians and advanced practice providers in the care of patients with ALS, Muscular Dystrophy, Myasthenia Gravis and patients with many other neuro muscular disorders. This unique team cares for both adult and pediatric patients, with opportunities to be involved in research and new treatments and therapies for rare diseases. The position would include a combination of triage work and clinic time with patients, working collaboratively with the team of providers, physical therapists, genetic counselor, research coordinators, EMG techs and support staff. Patient population includes those with muscular dystrophies, motor neuron diseases and neuropathies. No previous Neurology experience required, though the Ideal candidate would have the ability to multi-task, have excellent communication skills and enjoy the variety of day to day work with our various multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience. This position assumes the charge nurse role, actively participates in unit/service activities, supports co-workers, and assesses unit needs.
