Provides exceptional customer service, offering emotional support as needed. Provides a safe, welcoming environment for patients and families. Patient privacy policies must be followed in the conduct of all job responsibilities.


  1. Fosters a positive patient/family experience by providing exceptional customer service and offering emotional support as needed. Provides a safe, welcoming environment for patients and families.

  2. Orients patient and families to the unit, including daily operations, policies, and procedures. Sets clear expectations for the hospital stay.

  3. Functions as a liaison for patient/families with the interdisciplinary teams, utilizing resources and services as needed. Maintains effective communication with the patient's healthcare team.

  4. Performs service recovery and escalates complaints appropriately through unit leadership and Patient and Family Relations as needed.

  5. Serves as an advocate for patients and families throughout their hospital stay.

  6. Responsible for the inventory and oversight of all patient belongings.

  7. Assists with admission history and documentation.

  8. Updates the patient communication boards as needed.

  9. Assists with unit needs, such as room stocking and admission preparation.

Other duties as assigned.


  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Two years of experience in customer focused/service setting required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and computer experience preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $19.91 - $26.88 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
