Training and Development Coord

Rochester, NY

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Responsible for development, coordination, and evaluation of University Facilities & Services staff development activities. Develops and coordinates annual training program and identifies methods for improving effectiveness of training and other staff development activities. Manages third party providers/vendors enlisted to help with projects. Recommends and coordinates formal and informal learning solutions for performance and growth, including interpersonal skills, technical skills, general business applications, management skills, and leadership skills. This position may follow a hybrid work location schedule.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing staff development programs, to support the UF&S mission, values, annual goals, specific departmental skill and staff development needs.

  • Leads internal UF&S staff development advisory committee. Consults with key stakeholders and implements organizational effectiveness tools to ensure maximum engagement and continuous improvement of the company leaders. Manages third party providers/vendors enlisted to help with projects. Actively seeks internal feedback about quality of staff development program and develops plans for continuous improvement. Manage the IUOE Union training fund.

  • Develops policies and procedures for implementation of employee skills audits to support a competency-based, career-path training program. Manages completion of skills assessments and meets individually with UF&S employees to help them understand career-path options and requirements for career advancement. Insures staff development review is part of employee performance evaluation process.

  • Provides consultative services to the UF & S management team to identify needs, determine gaps and facilitate the deployment of transformational business changes. These continuous improvement projects are focused in organizational design, leadership development, performance excellence, workforce strategy and culture change.

  • Work collaboratively with UF&S departments, external departments, vendors and consultants to implement sustainable training programs for the enterprise asset management system. Participate in implementation process as well as roll outs of additional phases or department adoptions. Develop long term new employee training program across functional teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field (Education, Training) required

  • Five years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
