Mt. Hope Family Center

Child and Family Therapist

Provides professional therapeutic services and support to caregivers and their children. Services include a range of evidence-based interventions to address each family’s needs. Qualified applicant will participate in supervision with program and clinical staff and intervention-specific training (e.g. Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

Under direction and with considerable independence performs complex therapeutic duties in accordance with treatment manuals, and is assigned cases by Clinical Coordinator, according to experience and competence. Quality of work done is determined through observation and review of cases by a Senior Clinical Staff member. Responsibilities include all, or most of the following, as well as related duties.

Evaluates the psychosocial status of clients and family to determine specific needs for service. Provides intensive assistance through counseling and direct services in accordance with treatment manual to the client and client's family. Collaborates with clients/families to establish treatment goal around parenting and healthy child development that are informed by the client’s/family’s culture and belief systems. Supports clients in coping with difficult experiences and navigating systems. Therapeutic services occur at the family’s homes, community locations, or the center, depending on family preference/need. Refers client and family to desired community resources to maintain continuity of service. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with community agencies, which may be helpful to clients.

Attends and participates in clinical supervision meetings to help support therapist processing and case conceptualization as informed by treatment model fidelity. Helps develop a service plan for individuals through the sharing of knowledge of the clients and mobilization of available resources.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of social work/mental health counseling practices, cultural competencies, and the policies of community agencies through workshops, symposia and clinical literature.

Completes recording on all cases according to established policies. Conducts correspondence with other institutions and community agencies.

ADVANCEMENT:

For clinicians who are interested in advancement toward a Senior Clinical Staff member position, staff can consult with their supervisor regarding opportunities. Senior clinical positions could include supervision, consultation, and training opportunities.

RECOMMENDATIONS :

Requires Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field and/or relevant combination of education and experience will be considered. Certification as a social worker, marriage and family therapist, mental health counselor, as defined by the State Education Department, Division of Professional Licensing Services is optimal. If certification has not been obtained upon employment, the individual will be encouraged and supported towards obtaining licensure. Bilingual and fluent in Spanish is highly valued.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 41,746 - $ 56,347 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
