Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

Coordination of SMH Patient and Family Centered Care survey initiatives.

Role/General Purpose:

Under minimal direction and with latitude for independent judgment and initiative. provides oversight and coordination of the implementation, collection. analysis and dissemination of all patient experience data for optimizing outcomes. Function as key patient experience data resource/expert for URMC. Liaison between vendor, ISD, and the Office of Clinical Practice Evaluation and The Office of the Patient Experience. ยท

Serves as a resource regarding regulatory and public reporting initiatives related to the CMS's Patient and Caregiver-Centered Experience of Care initiative which includes but are not limited to the following initiatives: HCAHPS. CG-CAHPS. PORS. etc.

Duties/Specific Responsibilities:

  • Contact for Survey vendor, Press Ganey

  • Direct planning, designing. implementing, operation and evaluation of new surveys or modification of existing surveys. Determine survey selections and sampling rules.

  • Responsible for setting up standardized and custom reports.

  • Coordinate and organize with outside organizations for pilot participation.

    Liaison between ISD and Press Ganey

  • Develop submission and selection (inclusion and exclusion criteria) processes to meet federal or internal requirements.

  • Research issues /compliance requirements for surveying to improve data/reporting accuracy and interpretation.

  • Create reports to provide more valuable feedback and improve surveying returns.

  • Develop new or revise data feed Jayoi.1ts per survey requirements. advise and OC programming code changes for uploads.

    Provide Analytical Support for Patient Experience Initiatives with Offices of Patient Experience and Quality Departments

  • Perform activities as delegated by Senior Leadership and Chief Patient Experience Officer for PFCC initiatives.

  • Establish a thorough understanding of PGFusion. This includes being able to produce adhoc reports. determine response rates, and download PG generated files.

  • Develop and provide oversite and quality assurance of reports to be utilized. supporting the culture of data transparency.

  • Assure alignment in the implementation of survey design and reporting methodologies.

    Key Resource/Expert for Patient Experience Data throughout URMC

  • Provide exceptional service to staff and/or faculty in need of assistance.

  • Facilitate and provide administrative. investigative and analytic support, to ensure optimal reports (for routine reporting and ad hoc requests). generate reports using a variety of tools including but not limited to PGFusion. Hospital Compare, Adobe and Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel. CSV, Word, and PowerPoint}.

  • Monitor current and new survey needs, assist with overseeing survey design and deployment.

  • Provide data analysis and interpretation as requested for any patient experience improvement efforts and initiatives. collaborate with others both locally and nationally to help advance patient experience improvement efforts (i.e. UHC and PG Collaboratives).

    Administrator for Press Ganev Online/Patient Experience/CAHPS Surveys

  • Serve as resource expert on patient experience surveys as well as monitor survey requirements and regulations.

  • Assist with education of SMH internal customers (Press Ganey Online Patient Experience Data Specialist within the Office of Clinical Practice Evaluation Team

  • Work with OCPE team to maintain Quality webpage with most current satisfaction reports and survey information.

  • Coordinate and support redesign, development and dissemination of the Patient Centered section of OPPE Provider Profile Executive Summary reports and documentation to align with hospital wide PFCC and VBP focus.


  • Function as a key URMC resource for patient experience data and analysis.

  • Provide guidance and analysis, to physicians, departments, and teams on the utilization of patient experience data to produce effective results.

    Highest Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training

    Specialized or technical knowledge: Strong data analytic skills, proficient in Microsoft and Adobe applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional, and strong customer service skills.

    Kind and length of experience: Three to five years related work experience in an appropriate health, social or technical field or the equivalent experience in business.
