Student Co-op (Mech Engineering)
The University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) is seeking a self- motivated mechanical engineering student to work with in the Mechanical Engineering Group.
The mechanical design team is responsible for the development of laser system components, scientific diagnostic instruments and vacuum systems used in the world class OMEGA and OMEGA EP laser systems.
The position would involve creative problem solving, CAD modeling, analysis and the drafting of parts and assemblies to be fabricated.
There are opportunities for hands on experimentation, finite element analysis and vibration testing depending on the applicant’s particular strengths or fields of interest.
It is beneficial for applicants to have experience with CAD software and an understanding of machining / fabrication processes.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $ 15.00 - $ 25.96 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
