Reporting to the Assistant Bursar, a Student Account Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to billing inquiries from students and their families via phone, email and in person.

The position provides an opportunity to forge relationships with colleagues in multiple areas of the University including Financial Aid, College Advising, Finance, Registrar offices, Graduate departments and other student service areas. The Student Account Representative manages specialized areas of account responsibilities for the University, working closely with the School of Nursing and the graduate departments in Arts, Sciences and Engineering.

He/she conveys information regarding payment options, billing policies and procedures and 1098-T tax forms. A Student Account Representative is responsible for providing revised billing statements and detailed student account summaries, as needed. He/she also initiates refund requests in compliance with University procedures and federal regulations. This person must be able to handle challenging situations and customers while maintaining a professional and patient demeanor.

Additional duties also include cashiering services to University employees and students and departmental deposit input in a centralized financial system. Other duties as assigned.


AAS degree in business or accounting plus 3-5 years of related work experience with demonstrated customer service experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as ability to work with multiple, detail-oriented tasks. Must be able to work independently with limited direction. Strong accounting or math skills required.
