Full Time 40 hours Grade 051 Hand Rehabilitation
General Purpose:To plan and implement treatment program in Hand Therapy for patients with upper extremity injuries and/or disabilities, following Physician's recommendations.Specific Responsibilities:Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgement:Evaluates the patients' upper extremity functional abilities and impairments by various testing procedures.Instructs patients in Hand Therapy Program; monitors patient compliance and performance; supervises and instructs patients in therapy program modifications/advancements; and educates patients in matters of ADL modification and adaption.Determines modalities and implements treatment to maximize function.Obtains supportive information from other sources, such as physician's diagnosis and evaluation, family members, former employers, etc.Recommends to physician, and others involved, modification of program as needed.Assures appropriate safety practices and maintenance of equipment.Maintains and/or completes all required records and reports.Keeps current in the field by reading, attendance at selected professional meetings, seminars, etc.Becomes involved in clinical research studies.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy, New York State license in Physical or Occupational Therapy required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
