Sr. Speech-Language Pathologist
An exciting opportunity to be part of the dynamic, high-functioning multidisciplinary Cleft and Craniofacial Team at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Clinical role includes performing speech evaluations in our multidisciplinary team clinic, serving as a coordinator for our speech surgery program, as well as independent outpatient speech and feeding evaluations and therapy. Research and teaching opportunities exist for interested candidates. Must possess expertise and experience in a clinical sub-specialty in speech-language evaluation and treatment of cleft and craniofacial patient population.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs and interprets speech and language evaluations for both patients with cleft and craniofacial disorders. Serves as departmental resource (both directly and indirectly) for clinical sub-specialty area and/or execute departmental leadership function (e.g. service-line coordinator or clinical area lead, manager/leader of specific clinical functions).
Plans and provides speech and language therapy and intervention based on evaluation results. Develops and initiates treatment programs for more complex patients including Plans of Care.
Provides counseling, education, and guidance to patients and their families regarding disorder(s). Adapts existing resources to meet patient and caregiver needs.
Maintains comprehensive electronic medical records (EMR) for each patient. Communicates through written reports, flowsheet documentation, and other EMR specific tools. Recommends changes in standard departmental practices.
Works collaboratively with professionals from other disciplines. Conducts clinical teaching with medical students and undergraduate/graduate students from various colleges/universities. Provides education and in-services to hospital faculty and staff regarding speech and language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
Identifies potential research projects. Assists with the design and implementation of clinical research and data collection activities. Assists in locating resources for conducting research. Will participate in clinical education of pediatric SLP fellows.
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
1-2 years of clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology in a health care setting, preferably with expertise in the cleft and craniofacial patient preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and build strong team-based relationships. Flexibility and problem-solving skills. Experience in cleft and craniofacial speech pathology required.
Eligibility for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology required
New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology required

Pay Range: $ 80,122 - $104,166 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
