Responsibilities

Under minimal direction and with latitude for independent judgment and initiative, the Sr. Information Analyst will develop reports and perform analyses of operational, financial and reimbursement data for operational management, performance metrics, identification of revenue trends and statistical variance as well as ad hoc research-related reports. The position will be responsible for management of reports related to areas identified as critical to the operations and financial performance of the department.

Responsibilities:

Develop analyses, including trends, and prepare monthly reports highlighting concerns to ED leadership and/or Billing Administrator. Based on analyses of information gathered, inform appropriate personnel when quality issues arise are identified. In collaboration with Billing leadership, design and develop reports to aid billing leadership in identifying problems and/or trends in collections to maximize reimbursements available to the department.

Develop operational reports and analyses designed to communicate opportunities for improvement as well as monitor progress on departmental and institutional goals and to support ED research interests, including provider patient satisfaction reports. Determine analytical needs through discussion with the departmental leadership then design and implement programs and/or customize reports for presentation of the financial and reimbursement data.

Serve as departmental resource for reporting systems, eRecord and shadow databases including any requests for research purposes. Design, build and maintain complex departmental billing and operational databases to maximize reporting efficiency.

Perform other related duties, including presentations and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience required, plus 4-5 years’ experience. Demonstrated high level analytical & communication skills required. Knowledge of electronic medical record or eRecord reporting, revenue cycle applications and tools, as well as other database applications. Knowledge of physician billing, basic understanding of CPT coding and charge entry are preferred. Proficient with personal computers and Windows applications. No patient contact.
