Second Floor OR - Senior Assistant Nurse Manager, Level IV
Exciting new leadership opportunity with a dynamic nursing team and unique patient population, consisting primarily of the ophthalmology and dental patient population. The Senior Assistant Nurse Manager will work collaboratively amongst the interdisciplinary teams including surgery and anesthesia. This role is responsible to maintain accountability for all patient care & nursing activities in the 2 nd floor surgery center operating rooms. Oversees and directs unit activities including human resources management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among collaborative disciplines such as surgery and anesthesia, as well as with other departments in nursing and perioperative services. Oversees all quality improvement activities within the surgery center and participates on committees within the institution as requested. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years acute care or perioperative nursing experience, BSN and NYS license plus 5 years leadership experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
Requires a BSN or matriculation in a BSN program from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years or RN experience. This position is a member of the unit/service leadership team, demonstrates the ability to develop standards of care, unit/service goals, and objectives, and provides consultation and expertise in delivering patient care.
