Research Technician II

Rochester, NY

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This is a technical position in the Giacomelli lab in the department of Biomedical Engineering. The job consists of assisting with a clinical trial being conducted in collaboration with a private clinic in Victor, NY. This position involves working with clinic staff to identify elegable patients, recording microscopic images of tissue specimens removed during clinical procedures, and entering in demographic information into RedCap. The successful candidate will have general biology lab skills, be comfortable working in a clinical environment and be well organized. Experience in microscopic imaging and Redcap is a plus, although training will be provided.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Specimen imaging in Victor, NY

  • Coordinating with clinical staff and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in appropriate discipline plus 2-3 years specialized experience in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Practical experience in a biology or clinical lab preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $19.37 - $27.12 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
