University of Rochester Research Asst Professor in Rochester, New York
The Department of Medicine's Division of Nephrology at the University of Rochester, School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for a faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor. The candidate will be involved in research projects aimed at discovering the origin and development of hypertension and chronic kidney disease and will have experience or interest in Nephrology as a field of study. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing experiments in specified areas of research, have small animal surgical skills (such as placement of radiotelemetry transmitters, osmotic mini-pumps, and nephrectomy). The candidate will also assist the PI in writing grant proposals, manuscripts for publication, and abstracts for presentation at national and international meetings. Supervision and instruction of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows is also required.
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in biological science, and at least two years’ experience in related field, as well as have evidence in conducting research, and preparing manuscripts. The successful applicant should also be highly motivated, creative, and possess a strong work ethic and critical thinking abilities, have excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to collaborative research efforts.
