Job description- A clinical research position within the DISRUPT Pain program involving design, conduct, analysis, and publication of studies in human subjects with acute and chronic pain conditions with mentorship and direction from the co-principal investigators.
Participate in design and conduct of prospective studies to characterize pain mechanisms and assess efficacy of analgesic drugs or devices.
Perform secondary analyses of existing data or reviews of the literature to publish in manuscripts and support grant submissions.
Contribute to grant writing/production to obtain funding to advance the mission of the DISRUPT pain program.
Participate in mentoring medical/graduate students and research assistants on projects contributing to the mission of the DISRUPT pain program.
MD or PhD (or equivalent) in health-related or social sciences required. Prior experience with clinical research and excellent proficiency in scientific writing is required. Prior experience with designing and conducting observational studies of chronic pain states, analgesic clinical trials of drugs and devices, quantitative sensory testing, is preferred but not required. Proficiency with statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, or JMP is highly desired. The ideal candidate with be highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to set and obtain goals under broad direction of the PIs.
