OpeningWe seek candidates who utilize modern experimental approaches in animal models to address fundamental questions in neuroscience. Areas of research interest include, but are not limited to learning and memory, synaptic plasticity, glial cell biology, integrative and developmental mechanisms, and disorders of the nervous system. The successful candidate will be expected to direct an independent research program that will attract extramural funding, provide research training for graduate students and teach at the graduate level. Departmental faculty are members of the interdepartmental Neuroscience Graduate Program which along with other neuroscience-related activities, brings together a broad community of neuroscientists in affiliated departments, including Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Genetics, Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, and Pharmacology & Physiology.
