The division of Glial Disease & Therapeutics, within the Center for Translational Neuromedicine looking for a Research Assistant Professor whose interests are principally in research and who provides special areas of expertise required for complex, collaborative research programs.
This position will focus on immunohistochemical characterization of the glymphatic system and astrocytes combined with in vivo functional imaging experiments. He/she will use their expertise to develop a better understanding of the glymphatic system in the sleep-wake cycle and how pathological changes of glymphatic fluid transport in chronic neuropathic pain affects brain function. In addition to appointment in the Center, the faculty appointment also will be held Neurology.
Successful candidates will have 5 or more years in relevant postdoctoral study as well as a strong publication record. A Ph.D. and/or M.D. is required.
