SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Engagement, the Digital Content Coordinator will help to build and maintain MAG’S website in order to deepen visitor engagement through digital content that emphasizes pre- and post-visit materials, as well as provide access to collections, publications, and programs with the goal of increasing visitors online and onsite to build institutional visibility. The Digital Content Coordinator will also support the Marketing & Engagement Department’s digital content communications efforts including email marketing needs.

Website Management

  • Assure the website is kept current and up to date

  • Assess the need for web design based on departmental/project needs

  • Promptly responds and provides consultation to all departmental website requests to add, edit, and develop new content areas, pages, and improve website functionality

  • Manage web content, proofing and editing text for proper grammar and institutional style, and coordinating content with departments throughout the Museum

  • Utilize design skills, and web current technologies

  • Develops and enforces policies and procedures related to digital content used on the website

  • Troubleshoot for broken links, browser incompatibles, outdated content, code fixes, usability/accessibility issues

  • Create web forms

  • Solicit and post information, events, and links to related sites

  • Acts as the Department liaison with UR web services for additoinal troubleshooting needs

  • Track and report on all site metrics, to develop strategies for increasing impact and traffic

  • Keep current with emerging web trends and digital technologies through organization memberships, listservs, conferences and continuing education

Digital Content Management

  • Manage email communications content, proofing and editing text for proper grammar and institutional style, and coordinating content with departments throughout the Museum

  • Track and report on email, to develop strategies for increasing impact

  • Assists in the editing process of video and photography content to ensure web compatibility and compliance

Additional Marketing Support

  • Assists in support of graphic and design work for use on website as needed

  • Proivde social meida support as needed

  • Serve as the CRM Database Specialist for marketing projects. Perform marketing list exports.

Engagement Event Support/Staffing

  • Provides event support as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to work occasional evenings or weekends.

EDUCATION

A minimum of 1-3 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Computer Science, with experience in web design and/or interactive media, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

Graphic design experience is a plus.

Experience working with content management systems; knowledge of ALTRU a plus.

Knowledge of and experience improving organic search engine optimization.

Knowledge of and experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.

Experience with customer support and training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of web development in HTML and CSS.

Technically skilled with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.

Awareness of WC3 and Section 508 accessibility standards.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
