General Purpose:

In Collaboration with the Assistant Director of Census Management and Adult Transfer Center/ Admitting Clinical Coordinator, the Transfer Center/ Pediatric Admitting Clinical Coordinator Registered Nurse (PACC/TC) provides direct support to Patient Flow throughout Golisano Children’s’ Hospital (GCH) and the Affiliate Hospitals. The PACC/TC RN is accountable for 24/7 patient flow. The PACC/TC RN participates in the management of patient movement, mentoring house staff (RN and MD) and Regional MD’s concerning patient transfers, the development and evaluation of census management strategies, and the monitoring of patient flow outcomes. The PACC/TC RN is accountable for supporting standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the placement of specialty patients (Cardiology, Neurology, Transplant, Oncology, etc.) as well as managing placements of General Services and Emergency Department patients. The PACC/TC RN is involved in activities at the service, institutional, and regional level, and contributes to goal achievement through personal action, effective communication and the facilitation of others. The PACC/TC RN participates in community and professional organizations, demonstrating commitment to the promotion of URMC, particular Golisano’s Children’ Hospital, visibility and future. The PACC/TC RN Lead reports to and works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Census Management to further develop the role of the PACC. This PACC will be a major contributor to the Emergency Preparedness (EP) team in the development and execution of EP plan pertinent to Golisano’s Children’s Hospital.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing plus 3-5 years pediatric clinical nursing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid NYS RN license.
