Project Mgr, Value Analysis

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Responsible for leading the assessment, decision making and implementation of system-level value analysis projects for assigned area of responsibility to enhance system-integration, across clinical and non-clinical improvement initiatives. Prepares information and facilitates committee meetings for product review, evaluation and selection. Lead project implementation of committee decisions across the system.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manages product review, evaluation, selection, and implementation. Prepares analysis and information for product review meetings. Creates and maintains project plans, including timelines and milestones, change management strategies and communication plans. Negotiates sufficient resources from supply chain data analytics, purchasing, IP, revenue integrity, HIM, and reimbursement teams. Continually re-assesses the appropriate project management approach and skill set/resource mix across the enterprise system for both internal and external partners to ensure all project tasks are successfully completed.

  2. Sets and communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders. Defines project success criteria and communicates to team throughout project life cycle. Coaches, mentors, motivates and leads project team members. Influences project team to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Establishes and maintains relationships with affiliates and key partner groups to understand business needs, ensure alignment on objectives and obtain ongoing buy-in across all project activities

  3. Leads and drives system acceptance for clinical standardization of supply chain strategic projects. Works with key stakeholders, advisory groups and subject matter experts throughout the enterprise system to meet project deliverables and timeline.

  4. Manages ongoing project plans, department cost saving initiatives, resource and vendor compliance. Facilitates meetings and drives project issues through to resolution. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements, documentation and presentations.

  5. Participates as a member, chair, co-chair or ad hoc member of hospital/system committees or sub-committees as a representative of Supply Chain.

  6. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required. 5 years related experience in a clinical setting and experience in performance/process improvement, project management and use of healthcare data required or equivalent combination of education and experience; Prior experience leading or participating in product evaluation and/or value analysis committee and experience in vendor management preferred. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Analytical skills including cost-benefit analysis and financial feasibility studies; Computer skills, including knowledge and use of spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail and the World Wide Web/Internet; Ability to learn new software programs; Basic knowledge of medical-surgical supplies, diagnostic testing, etc. preferred; Knowledge of clinical and operational improvement processes; Ability to determine objectives, sets priorities, and delegate work; Obtain cooperation, facilitate agreement and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions; Identify, anticipate, and mitigate potential risks or opportunities; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with people across diverse backgrounds and cultures; Operate independently; be self-motivated and organized; Use a personal computer and related hardware and software for communication, information, data and record management; and reporting. Project Management certification within 3 years of hire preferred.
