Palliative Care Clinic - Registered Nurse-Level II
The candidate will work closely with providers (physicians, APPs, mental health professionals and others) in an outpatient ambulatory clinic, both in-person and remotely. They must have a strong desire to work as a member of a growing interdisciplinary team, caring for seriously ill patients and their families, managing symptoms, coordinating care and working to improve their overall quality of life. Requirements: Impeccable communication skills, compassionate listening and commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Ideally, one or more years of experience in inpatient setting, and two or more years in palliative care and/or hospice settings. Working knowledge of pain- and other symptom-management in seriously ill patients, including the risks and benefits of opioids, benzodiazepines, and other medications common to the palliative care setting. Understanding the symptomatic and prognostic implications of the range of serious illnesses managed by our practice, including different cancer diagnoses, and progressive neurologic, pulmonary and other diseases. Desire to support and guide patients and families through all stages of serious illness with compassion. Ability to practice autonomously with a professional demeanor.
Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience. This position assumes the charge nurse role, actively participates in unit/service activities, supports co-workers, and assesses unit needs.

Pay Range: $33.00 - $42.90
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
