PT position, days, 4-8 hour shifts, 20 hours/week

Responsibilities

Will be a key provider of services for this unique population of patients with difficult to heal wounds and supervision of patient receiving hyperbaric treatments. The Wound and Hyperbaric Center has a full staff of RN’s, patient assistants and physicians that work collaboratively to ensure quality of care and both patient and staff satisfaction with services. Evaluates and manages wound patients ensuring quality standards of care following a set practice guidelines. Coordinates the patient’s plan of care with referring providers, PCP’s, homecare nurses, skilled facilities and clinical disciplines to address patient needs, evaluate the efficacy of care, and assess changes in the patient’s condition to ensure healing outcome goals. Skills will include wound debridement and dressing selections for the promotion of healing. Will receive skills training and mentoring and complete a hyperbaric oxygen team training within 12 months of hire. Job Requirements: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant licensed in New York State and national certification with NPI for Medicare billing. Prefer 2-3 years of experience as a practitioner preferably in a surgical or vascular unit and or board certification in wound specialty (WOCN, CWS).

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Physician Assistant

Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
