Neurology (Movement Disorders) - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
Exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team in caring for a specialized population of patients with Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, dystonia, ataxia, and Tourette’s syndrome. You will partner with nationally renown physician experts, dedicated nursing, social work, and technical staff in providing state-of-the art care to patients and families. Major responsibilities include providing direct and indirect care for patients seen in the ambulatory setting. As your expertise develops, there will be opportunity to participate in support groups and community outreach as well as assisting in the Deep Brain Stimulation and Intestinal Duopa Programs with the physician, including monitoring and programming of the devices. The UR Movement Disorders, a division in the department of neurology is a nationally recognized a center of excellence. The UR Movement Disorders has received designation as a Center of Excellence by the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc. and the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Additionally the movement Disorders division has been recognized as a site of advanced education in the care of Parkinson’s disease and has been awarded a fellowship position form the Michael J Foxx Foundation. Requirements: NYS NP or PA license/ CPR, national certification by ANCC or ACNP. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range: $44.71 - $67.07
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Schedule: FT position available, Monday-Friday, no holidays required
