LMS Administrator and eLearning Developer

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The LMS Administrator provides management, technical, analytical, and consulting expertise for implementation and ongoing support of the eRecord Training Logistics and Administration, including operational support of the Learning Management Software (LMS). Supports Training Project Director in all logistics and administrative, tactical areas.

Coordinates the enterprise-wide implementation and maintenance of the eRecord Training Logistics and the Learning Management System Administration of the eRecord Training project. Works with technical staff and managers to identify requirements, facilitate and implement changes in process, logistics and administration of the eRecord Training Program.

Provides day-to-day training logistics and administration coordination and support to Project managers, trainers and staff. Employs analytical and project management skills to identify and clarify user requirements and develop appropriate strategies. Evaluates appropriateness of various proposed solutions.

Recommends, plans, designs, executes and evaluates eLearning design based on assigned clinical, revenue, and/or access application(s), data & technology systems, specific to the eRecord project and related role-based, workflow processes throughout URMC hospitals, ambulatory, and regional affiliated clinics and URMC Research Community in conjunction with the content knowledge from the instructional designer expert. Utilizes various tools in design of curriculum, including but not limited to Articulate, Adobe Suite, and Quizmaker.

Provides analytical, administrative and procedural assistance for identification of LMS and training program requirements, enhancements and setup decisions. Functions as a liaison and coordinator between trainers, end users, department managers and LMS and print vendors.

Provides in-depth analysis of the requirements and develops functional specifications as part of the process to solve the users' needs. Proposes, documents and manages procedures and training plans. Utilizes innovative solutions (technology, process, and/or communication) in solving both internal and external/customer problems, collecting data and feedback from all impacted.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports LMS (Learning Management System) for new & live users, including data analytics

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the Learning Management Systems installed, and supporting technology related operational processes.

  • Monitors training content and design in LMS, ensuring data is up to date and accurate

  • Creates & Decommissions LMS content in the form of user accounts, security access, Learning Plans, and more as needed

  • Advanced knowledge and use of LMS data analytics, including utilizing out-of-box reports and creating/modifying reports as need for both internal and external customers

  • Defines, develops, and documents the necessary conceptual design and detail design of subprojects such as QA measures and training reporting needs.

Support LMS Updates, Upgrades, Maintenance, and Issues

  • Defines tasks, determines scope of modifications, and communicates requirements for upgrades and updates to Learning Management Systems

  • Provides on-call support of the LMS as scheduled. Troubleshoots problems received from customer base and responds within established timeframe based on level of criticality.

  • Reviews, finalizes, and ensures the documentation is complete for ISD procedures and systems summaries, downtime procedures for departmental operations and associated downstream systems.

  • Anticipates problems and formulates contingency plans or solutions as a project team member.

  • Understands when and how to escalate project issues to Project Director.

  • Establishes effective working relationships with technical personnel within vendors and other internal groups involved in LMS systems analysis, planning, and implementation.

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the LMS and related procedures and processes. Monitors training logistics, room and program utilization and performance and researches any inconsistencies in outcomes.

  • Coordinates the functional and operational implementation of the Learning Management System with technical support from ISD and the vendor.

Supports Curriculum (eLearning, learning plans, assessments)

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the eLearning and other instructional design tools, and supporting technology related operational processes.

  • Defines tasks, determines scope of modifications, and communicates requirements for upgrades and updates to instructional design software

  • Provides input on tools and software related to training program activities to Training Managers.

  • Participates in the evaluation, design, facilitation, implementation and ongoing support of the Training program and LMS.

Innovation and Process Improvement for Enterprise Training team (internal and customer facing workflows and processes)

  • Establishes rapport and relationships with internal Training team members, as well as external customers, to understand workflows and processes.

  • Identifies internal and/or external workflows for improvement, researching and proposing optimal solutions.

  • Monitors the operational impact of information technology solutions; may recommend and assist with changes in operational processes related to training programs, learning management systems.

Enterprise Training Team & ISD education/training & consulting

  • Organizes and conducts training workshops, webinars, videoconferences, meetings with internal team members on use of team technology and programs as needed. Monitors progress and provides updates and reports to the Training Management team.

  • Defines, develops, and documents the necessary conceptual design and detail design of subprojects such as Workshops, In-Services and training reporting needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Training and Adult Education, Computer Science, Health related studies or Business-related studies) required.

  • Graduate degree preferred.

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience required.

  • 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity preferred.

  • or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.

  • 2 years Administration and Project Management experience required.

  • 5 years’ experience in customer service logistics or healthcare learning systems analysis preferred.

  • Effective, excellent written and verbal communications skills required.

  • Proven ability to lead teams required.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $65,000 - $135,000 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
