Performs complex laboratory assignments, may plan/conduct a complete project of limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. Candidates must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills and be able to work independently and as part of a highly functioning team.
SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Laboratory equipment: Biological Safety Cabinets, Centrifuges, Refrigerator/Freezers including Ultra-Low freezers and Liquid Nitrogen Freezers; office equipment; computer and/or peripheral equipment.
In accordance with broadly-outlined objectives and requirements plans and conducts technical procedures, non-routine and complex in nature. Sets up and operates sophisticated equipment or instrumentation.
Receive, accession, label, store and triage Clinical Trial samples.
Process Clinical Trials samples in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Procedures to include PBMC processing, DNA extraction, other routine sample preparation and other analysis as required while strictly adhering to quality control and quality assurance protocols.
Assist in the inventorying and ordering supplies. Perform QC, preventative maintenance and equipment validations.
May review and integrate technical work of others. May be involved in the training of others in defined technical areas.
May perform other specialized duties as assigned.

Is able to prioritize and maintain focus while performing multiple tasks.
Adherence to all University and Departmental policies, including I CARE.
Adherence to all laboratory safety procedures.
Associate's degree in appropriate discipline plus 4-5 years specialized experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field preferred.
