Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This is a full-time entry-level position in the Clinical Trials Office to conduct clinical research related to the oncology clinical trials under the direction of the Co-Director for research and senior health project coordinator. . Responsibilities will include: screening and recruiting potential study candidates, collecting data/specimens, reviewing charts, data entry, and administering electronic assessments. Candidates must work well as part of a team, provide compassionate care to patients, be able to complete project tasks independently as requested, be comfortable with a variety of databases, be detail oriented, and at all times demonstrate the ability to interact in a professional and positive manner in both verbal and written communications.
Responsibilities:
Conducts participant screening for Cancer Center clinical trials as assigned.
Conducts subject screening and enrollment: Explains study in detail, and answers all participant questions, provides enrollment updates at monthly study meetings and provides bimonthly updates to study coordinators and Co-Director.
Assists patients with quality of life forms/device as required by protocol.
Data collection, entry, and maintenance: Verifies study-related information and reviews subject records to ensure complete and accurate data. Assists with database creation, edits, and general maintenance; enters data into database. Utilizes database to run reports and track subject visits.
Schedules and conducts study visits to ensure patient compliance with clinical trial.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in appropriate discipline and 2-3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in a medical or technical field preferred.
Ability to work independently with supervision from Co-Director and Senior Health Project Coordinator.
Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and be comfortable and familiar with subject interactions.
Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, and communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask and prioritize, take direction, and comply with acceptable regulatory requirements and IRB standards.
