Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides support to the routine operations of the retail and back-office functions of the University of Rochester Technology store branches. Prepares routine reports and inventory databases, leverages existing agreements with distributors/vendors in the store’s supply chain to order products and deals with customer problems and complaints. Tracks receipt of orders and coordinates timely deliveries.

MACHINES & EQUIPMENT USED:
Standard office equipment, cash register and all equipment which is a part of the standard stock of University of Rochester Computer Sales.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Provides back-office support for retail operations; works with IT merchandising team to make decisions regarding product range and selection; reviews, sets and maintains appropriate stock levels for retail locations.
Generates routine purchase orders and reviews them for accuracy; places supply orders with distributors or directly with vendors.
Generates customer quotes and or project proposals.
Monitors open orders and follows up with customers and vendors as needed; ensures product arrival meets timeliness and acts on alternatives where delays cannot be avoided.
Monitors point-of-sale and inventory databases; maintains current status of stock availability. Within established limits and the context of agreements, place and track orders for technology products and return merchandise as needed.
Coordinates delivery for all UR Technology store purchases; develops schedules for deliveries based on anticipated product arrival from distributors; manages delivery issues and monitors the receipt of product and report issues to management.
Provides customer service in branch retail locations; demonstrates and may sell computer equipment, accessories, software and supplies.
Resolves day to day operational situations and customer complaints and problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree and 2-3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with both PC and Macintosh environments and word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and database software preferred.
