Responsibilities

General Purpose:

Directs housekeeping services in such areas as residence halls, hospital areas, administration, or academic buildings.

Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

  • Directs the work of such personnel as Environmental Services Workers, schedules their work and determines that established standards of quality and quantity are met. Trains employees with emphasis on working procedures, operation and use of new equipment and materials, safety and University policies. Directs and schedules periodic projects and tasks. Directs special technical cleaning as required in the operating rooms, delivery rooms, nurseries and the daily and terminal cleaning of isolation units.

  • Helps coordinate cleaning activities within the area. Consults and coordinates with other department supervisors on problems which affect Housekeeping operations. Evaluates the work of outside contractors for some services.

  • Makes recommendations on matters of discipline, promotions, overtime, performance evaluations and other personnel functions. Posts and interviews for any open positions. Verifies time worked and time cards. Assists in the development of operating budget as needed.

  • Evaluates products for use. Requisitions and issues supplies as required. Maintains supply and equipment inventory and provides for its security and good condition.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required

  • 2 years related supervisory experience required;

  • or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 20.38 - $ 28.56 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
