This candidate will assess, design, implement and evaluate quality improvement and educational programs at the unit level. The candidate will work directly with staff, unit leadership and the interdisciplinary team as a change agent to drive excellent patient and unit outcomes. Main areas of responsibility include Unit Performance Program (UPP) team coordination, unit level data review and interpretation, project implementation/management and dissemination of best practices. The candidate should have strong communication skills, willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team and passion for patient and family centered care for a unique patient population. Must have strong clinical knowledge in medical/surgical nursing, experience in psychiatric nursing and nursing leadership a plus. Previous leadership experience preferred. Master's degree in nursing required.


Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
