The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking a Research Assistant Professor to join the Schizophrenia Treatment and Research (STAR) Program. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree (MD or PhD) with a background in psychiatry or clinical psychology, and prior experience (at least 2 years) in schizophrenia research, and prior experience in the job tasks. Responsibilities of the position include: conducting structured diagnostic and symptom rating interviews (e.g., SCID, PANSS, YMRS), conducting cognitive and visual remediation intervention sessions, collecting data on visual system structure and function using techniques such as visual evoked potentials, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography, and, serving as the outreach specialist for a clinical high risk for psychosis program. The latter requires developing and giving presentations to universities and medical agencies in western New York about psychosis risk states, their treatment, and the high-risk program at URMC. The candidate will also be expected to initiate one or more studies as principal investigator (PI), and to apply for grants as PI no later than the second year of the position.
