Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism - Registered Nurse, Level II

Responsibilities
Provide general support for the outpatient Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism team. Provide nursing expertise in the delivery of care to a specialized patient population. Provide clinical support for the providers in the Division of Endocrinology. Care delivery includes triage & respond to phone calls; perform dynamic endocrine test; teach insulin administration & blood glucose monitoring; teach patients how to do IM and subcutaneous injections and download data and trouble shoot devices. Required Skills: Must have a NYS nursing license; ability to facilitate and lead a team approach to population based care as needed; willing to participate in ongoing education/training to improve patient coaching skills; interacts effectively with all members of health care team, patients and their caregivers; excellent writing and communication skills; strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and skills in multi-tasking/prioritizing/medical care coordination.
Qualifications
Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience. This position assumes the charge nurse role, actively participates in unit/service activities, supports co-workers, and assesses unit needs.
