Sr. Associate Dean of Education and Innovation

Job Description:

With significant latitude for independent judgment and decision making, works directly with Senior Associate Dean on special projects and initiatives related to the Simon Business School strategic plan and new curricular initiatives.

Project Management (30%)

Lead the development, organization and implementation of large-scale project plans (such as the launch of a new program) that have significant revenue and strategic impact to the Simon Business School.

School-wide projects will cross departments and require integrated coordination with senior managers and faculty directors to ensure that the projects stay on track, on budget, and with appropriate resource/staffing allocated to balance with existing operational priorities.

Program Management (20%)

Provide high level support to the Senior Associate Dean. Develop written messages, PowerPoint presentations for key meetings, manage agendas and minutes for Program and Task Force Committee meetings, steer pre-meeting and post-meeting follow ups, and prompt deliverables. Requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, and strong attention to the details.

Program Management Planning and Processes (20%)

Maintain annual strategic initiatives calendar and manage the process for Academic program reviews, including faculty committee meeting management, the Assessment of Learning (AOL) process, reporting for AACSB accreditation, analysis of academic and co-curricular program feedback, and integrated recommendations for process and program excellence. Performs complex analysis and reports as needed to bring projects to completion.

Market Research and Benchmarking (10%)

On both an annual and as-needed basis, conducts benchmarking against competitors and completes research analysis using survey instruments such as focus groups or Qualtrics online surveys. Produces reports that include the analysis of research and benchmarking data for Associate Dean and Program Staff, Faculty Directors, and Faculty Committees that guides key decisions.

Measurement, data visualization and reporting (10%)

Uses PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, and other software to create data visualization, dashboards, and reporting on key metrics.

Budget/Financial Analysis (5%)

In collaboration with Executive Director of Finance provide comparisons and analysis of program costs.

Preferred Qualifications and necessary skills

  • 10+ years of experience in higher education or related field, working Program or Project Management role.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, including attention to details, deadlines, and process

  • Excellent communication skills, including effective presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with faculty and staff within a matrix-based organization

  • Experience seeing complex and large-scale projects through the full life cycle – including the ability to manage across the organization on key deliverables

  • Familiarity with various project management methodologies

  • Resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others

  • Advanced knowledge using analytic tools such as Excel, Qualtrics, and Tableau

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience required
