The Director of Leadership Development in the Center for Professional Development and Education Reform serves to provide outreach services to the community consistent with the mission and values of the Center, Warner School, and U of R. The work of the Leadership Development area in the Center is to support leaders, particularly in K-12 schools, to become more reflective practitioners, more deliberate decision makers, and more capable leaders. The Director supports, oversees, and contributes to this work through securing grants and contracts.
Business Development 25% – Includes setting strategic plans/goals for Leadership Development Outreach in the Center, securing grants and contracts. Developing and maintaining relationships with university, school district and community agencies. Develop, prepare and execute marketing materials. Oversee financial operations of the area, including developing and monitoring budgets, and maintaining fiscal responsibility/targets. Directly responsible for generating revenue from grants and contracts to support the operations of the Center.
Supervision/management 25% – Recruiting high-quality coaches and consultants to support the efforts of the area. Provide Professional Development for Coaches/consultants to ensure alignment and quality of work. Work with Center Operations Manager to ensure accurate contract agreements and compensation for area consultants.
Providing Direct Support on grants and contracts, including providing coaching services, strategic planning, and professional learning. 25%
Scholarship 10% – Sharing initiatives, efforts, impact of work with larger educational community through presentations or publications.
Contributing to overall functioning of the Center and Warner School 10% – Participate in Warner Staff Meetings, Center Team Meetings, Center Directors’ Meetings; serve on relevant hiring committees and/or ad hoc committees/initiatives as warranted.
Other duties as assigned 5%
Bachelors degree required. Masters or Doctorate preferred. 5 years experience as a K-12 school or university leader or equivalent combination of education and experience. Deep knowledge of educational leadership. Strong communication and organizational skills. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to work without close supervision. Ability to work successfully as a member of a dynamic team. Entrepreneurial, innovative, collaborative.
NYS School Leader or a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership required.How To Apply
