The Director, Digital Marketing has critical responsibilities for managing the direction, implementation and ongoing evaluation for advertising, marketing and communications activities for the Simon Business School, at the University of Rochester, to align with and support overarching institutional objectives. This role will apply a deep understanding of digital channel capabilities (web, social, email, media) to integrate marketing campaigns and connect the Simon brand and programs to priority audiences. The Director of Digital Marketing will evaluate and improve programs for increased effectiveness, requiring an analytical skill set in addition to strategic thinking and excellent communication.
Develop integrated marketing strategies that will result in generating leads for customer acquisition.
Oversight of digital marketing campaigns, including copy creation, campaign implementation, budget management, performance review, and basic optimizations.
Plan promotional and marketing calendar to drive customer acquisition across customer touch points
Serve as key point of contact for agencies and primary liaison with internal stakeholders to develop strategies focused on moving audiences through the funnel to conversion.
Champion best practices in digital marketing and consumer technology trends to reach and engage both new and existing audiences and develop new channels when appropriate.
Monitor campaigns’ performance, and suggest improvements throughout the process.
Understand objectives and KPIs, share and report on performance.
Communicate insights and performance trends and recommend adjustments to strategy.
Managing day-to-day website and campaign activities across multiple accounts, including campaign strategy, audience targeting, platform setup, and campaign performance analysis.
Work on special website projects.
Oversee social media strategy as a key pillar to successful integrated marketing
Ensure all posts are optimized and tracked for performance
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others
Qualifications and necessary skills
Minimum Five (5) years of proven experience in a digital marketing campaign management role or experience with marketing automation.
Expertise in campaign development and implementation, media management and evaluation of digital media effectiveness is required for consideration.
Must work with multiple internal and agency partners and effectively communicate marketing strategies that inspire results.
Full understanding of all social media platforms with experience executing paid social media campaigns.
Ability to work with graphic designers, writers, web developers and internal clients.
Knowledge of content management systems.
Understanding of UTM parameters.
Strong ability to adapt to new technologies.
Excellent critical-thinking skills.
Data analysis experience, preferred.
Interpersonal, time management, and project management skills a must.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Google Analytics and Google Data Studio.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Professional experience creating and optimizing content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.
Must be dedicated, reliable, flexible and confident problem-solver.
Attention to detail and follow-through to team members and clients.
Proactive approach with positive, can-do attitude.
Bachelor’s degree, MS or MBA preferred.
Higher education experience is a plus.
