Full Time 40 hours Grade 009 Clinical & Social Psychology





With minimum direction and latitude for initiative and judgment: Supports Chair and two Administrators:

  • Works on special projects for chair and administrators
  • Purchases equipment with direction from administrators
  • Enters data into spreadsheets and databases
  • Assists with ledger reconciliation
  • Oversees petty cash funds, including all transactions
  • Processes Requests for Payments and Expense Reports
  • Assembles information for and drafts correspondence of a confidential nature
  • Files information for chair and administrators

Acts as Department Secretary:

  • Screens and triages visitors to administration area
  • Resource person for department’s visitors, answering questions as appropriate
  • Maintains and inventories office supplies, including inventory and ordering of same
  • Maintains departmental key files and logs, including distributing keys, inventory and replacement
  • Revises department website with direction from administrators and/or department’s Web Committee
  • Schedules department’s conference rooms
  • Contacts Facilities for basic services
  • Distributes mail
  • Delivers confidential information to University offices
  • Other tasks as assigned


2 years of post high school education in secretarial studies or the equivalent. At least 3 years of secretarial and office experience, including 1 year in a position which demonstrated the ability to work with minimum supervision and to direct an office operation.

Prefer College graduate or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Prefer 1-2 years of relevant administrative and secretarial experience. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; familiarity with Microsoft Publisher is preferred. Must be detail oriented, have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to work under pressure. The ability to work well independently and with a team is essential.
