Serves Integrated Clinical Systems as specialist in ensuring patients’ Imaging specific medical record are accurate and current. Acts as liaison between Imaging Sciences clinical, technical and clerical staff to perform reconciliations of patient’s electronic medical records/imaging specific data, digital data and billing data as necessary from Radiology, Cardiology and OB/GYN department. Knowledge with Phillips PACS Archive / eView (image viewing application), lifeIMAGE (Cloud product for outside studies), PICS (eView downtime application), assures all current digital images are accessible and contain accurate patient information for Physicians and clinical staff. Will also include working with our regional hospitals. Often involving other EMR’s than URM’s.
Monitor eView exceptions list assuring all studies and previous comparison images are sent correctly from Radiology, Cardiology and OBGYN departments. Resolves exceptions of studies sent under a cancelled accession number, no accession number, wrong medical record number, no medical record number, etc. contacts appropriate area if an order for the Imaging study is needed. Receive calls and pages from clinical staff who identified mistakes or errors in the patient’s image study. Understand and correct these issues.
Validate orders, exam codes and patient demographics are correct for necessary studies. Correct as applicable. Use expert knowledge on system and clinical operations to identified issues and resolve Communicate with Health Information Management personnel to obtain accurate patient
Answer all phone calls, emails, and pages for information requests from imaging sciences staff to facilitate or assist with the clinical operation as it related to data integrity.
Report any issues noticed to IT personnel. Provide input for development and implementation of new workflow processes. Provide training assistance for new reconciliation staff. Perform periodic quality assurance duties related to routine maintenance of PACS.
As it relates to PACS or other study application / storage migrations as we continue to affiliate with other organizations or retire legacy systems, additional data recon or data management will be required and a process outlined to facilitate unique study integration.
Administrative functions including change control, time away management, system documentation, contribution to standard operating procedures, and in-service and training.
Other duties as assigned
Associates in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering required
1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Prior experience in multiple imaging informatics areas of expertise including PACS (picture archiving and communication system), or CVIS (cardiovascular information system), or Radiation Oncology Systems, Electronic Medical Record integration preferred.
