This position will interact with multiple development phases of large projects for the Medical Center including, but not limited to Clinical, Financial, Quality, Regulatory and Operations to insure data intuitive presentation designs are understandable and provides a rich user experience. The position will also be responsible for administrating the platforms Data Management Platforms for system uptime, performance and application upgrades. Additional responsibilities include role-based security design, usage and improvement of processes and controls governing these applications. Assignment of additional projects and requests to perform analysis and programming addressing challenging tasks can be assigned as needed.
Create upgrade and project run plans
Oversee and Guide Run Plans through completion
Communication to end users regarding system changes
Work with vendors and users planned maintenance downtimes
Documentation of processes and workflows for team knowledge base
Follow ISD / EDA Change control processes
Monitor Maintain and Report on System performance
Advise on System enhancements and Upgrade Requirements
System Management on one or more of the following systems:
SAP BOE (BI Tool- System Support and Daily Job Monitoring)
Epic Clarity, Epic Caboodle Epic SlicerDicer ETL Administration
Collaborate with business users to understand and determine business requirements for data extraction out of the Epic platform.
Demonstrate end-to-end understanding of the Epic platform, specifically Clarity and Caboodle.
Independently managing requests and tasks assigned
Works with clinical, financial and business requirements related to reporting applications support for the UR Medicine eco-system of applications
Manage requests and/or components of larger projects with appropriate documentation and status reports
Assist Senior Developers with requests and/or components of larger projects with appropriate documentation and status reports
Manages small initiatives and upgrades to the platform and research network connectivity components.
Conducts operational impact assessments & technical walk-through.
Maintains communication between the above listed key customers and ISD to provide updates and information regarding technology.
Participate in project meetings as a key contributor with stakeholders from operations, clinical, payer relations and analytics team
Enforces programming standards through walk-through and/or change control processes.
Serves on committees and attends meetings as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Participates in webinars, local/regional meetings, and discussion forums to gain technical and/or functional knowledge.
Follows departmental guidelines regarding time, project management, and time recording. Participates willingly and effectively in quality improvement projects.
Follows all ISD administrative standards (such as, timely time sheet preparation, filling out time-off sheets, etc.)
Review Epic upgrade documentation related to reporting and implement the changes as per the guidelines defined
Respond promptly to the needs of end-users, and meets Service Level Agreements as defined with business partners
Adheres and subscribes to the ISD Values as stated in the Values Statement.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or business preferred. Master’s degree highly desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
5 years software application support/design/analysis in a health care, research, educational, or business setting.
3+ years of experience with data modeling and data management in a relational database management system, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server
3+ years of experience with SQL development. Ability write complex relational and multidimensional SQL queries and complex stored procedures.
3+ years experience with ETL tools, such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of client/server and web-based systems.
Good understanding of SQL-based database technologies including joins, primary and foreign keys, stored procedures, and triggers.
Effective communication skills (oral presentation, listening, written)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to generate teamwork are essential.

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
Windows server environment experience
Linux server environment and VMWare experience preferred.
Project management experience preferred.
Healthcare reporting/analytics experience - preferred.
Prior experience working with an EHR system and understanding of clinical and revenue cycle data - preferred.
Current Epic certification in Epic Clarity ETL Admin, Epic Caboodle ETL Admin, etc. is preferred
