REMARKS:
University of Rochester School of Nursing is seeking a fulltime faculty candidate for the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and Leadership in Healthcare Systems (LDR) programs. Candidates must have professional licensure and CNL certification, relevant clinical practice leadership experience, as well as experience with professional education, education technology, program development, project management and communicating with academic/practice partners to promote graduate student success. Candidates are expected to have a record of scholarly work, a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and teaching experience. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. Clinical faculty are eligible for promotion along the clinical track.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidates will work with the Academic Program Director, Specialty Director and leadership faculty colleagues to design course materials that meet the program and course learning outcomes in compliance with accreditation standards while implementing best practices in education. Faculty engage in a variety of teaching modalities (online, face-to-face and hybrid) in a variety of settings (didactic, simulation, lab, and clinical), have experience and comfort with education technology, and be willing to actively engage in innovative teaching/learning practices. This role will require engagement with students and preceptors in credit-bearing experiential learning/clinical experiences to evaluate student performance as well as ensure alignment of clinical learning experiences with individual course and program learning outcomes. The CNL/LDR Faculty will serve as a leadership role model, resource, advisor and mentor for students and colleagues. This faculty member is responsible for coordination, supervision and evaluation of all clinical student/preceptor placements for students in the CNL and LDR programs in collaboration with clinical course coordinators. The CNL/LDR faculty member at the University of Rochester School of Nursing will be a ranked member of the CNL and LDR program. Responsibilities include:
• Assists the Academic Program Director and Specialty Director with strategic planning related to the education mission.
• Collaborates with the Academic Program Director and the Specialty Director in the planning, implementation and evaluation of all program related initiatives including those related to experiential learning clinical settings, communication, collaboration between student and preceptor as well as ongoing outreach for new preceptors and new clinical placement organizational sites.
• Actively engages with practice partners and student preceptors to coordinate all experiential learning placements, communicate with and coordinate all new SON preceptors and to ensure documentation of student and faculty evaluations are completed in the school of nursing education tracking system (SONNET).
• Serves as course faculty for both Leadership programs as well as teaches or provides guest lectures across School of Nursing baccalaureate and master programs, representing the Leadership programs.
• Participates in program faculty meeting and faculty committees as needed or selected.
• Attends SMH/URMC affiliate nursing department meetings.
• Participates in the holistic interview process for LDR and CNL student applicants.
• Serves as an academic advisor/career mentor for leadership students in both LHCS and CNL programs and meets with students individually or collectively each semester.
This academic faculty member will teach both clinical and didactic leadership courses across both LDR and CNL programs. This faculty member will teach both foundational as well as capstone courses all grounded in clinical leadership.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree, current NYS RN licensure, demonstrated record of clinical leadership experience, demonstrated record of academic teaching, superior interpersonal skills supportive of students across all academic programs and demonstrated record of clinical leadership experience. Applicants must hold current CNL certification,
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in online learning strongly preferred as well as experience with professional nursing education, education technology, program development, and project management.
Doctorate in education, clinical leadership or research preferred (EdD, DNP or PhD).
