Responsibilities

Position Summary:

With minimal direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment, the Center for Leading Innovation and Collaboration (CLIC) Senior Engagement Manager is responsible for managing and implementing activities for the CLIC Team Science and Collaboration core for the national Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program Consortium. CLIC provides the Consortium with coordination, transparent communication, actionable metrics, network analytics and innovative collaborative tools. The Senior Engagement Manager will help build and manage a dynamic environment that supports effective, efficient and team-based initiatives within and between CLIC and the Consortium.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will manage, direct, and coordinate activities and staff to support team science such as Consortium-wide in-person meetings, self-organizing “un-meetings,” development of Consortium manuscripts, and national survey collection and reporting.

With latitude for exercising independent administrative judgement, will make decisions on the administration of CLIC collaboration and CTSA Program Consortium support activities, timelines and staffing. Responsibilities include the following, as well as other related duties:

Lead and supervise a team of CLIC meeting coordinators and meeting planners to support planning, implementation and coordination of nationwide teleconferences and in person meetings for the CTSA Domain Task Force (DTF) working groups, various CTSA Program committees and CTSA Program-wide events. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for effective management and coordination of CLIC collaboration activities. Train, supervise and evaluate CLIC meeting coordinator/administrative staff. Promote and enhance an atmosphere of engagement, cooperation and teamwork. Apply a critical eye toward evolving and improving the efficiency of internal processes and interactions with other CLIC teams and the CTSA Consortium.

Lead project planning of proposal solicitation, review and award for 2 “un-meetings” per year. Manage staff, timelines and spending for this Request for Proposal process and subsequent award. Work closely with the CTSI Finance Team.

Work with team leads, particularly with the Survey Team to ensure a high level of integration and harmonization of activities with the coordinators and meeting planners. Work with the Survey Team leader to establish internal processes for implementation, tracking and dissemination of survey results.

Manage activities, staff and resources to provide administrative support for the development of Consortium-developed manuscripts, estimated at 2 per year.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in an appropriate health, social or business field, 3 – 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience/training.
  • Master’s degree strongly preferred and at least 5 years’ managerial experience.
  • Experience with project management methods and software, possess team building and organizational skills and a strong focus on client/customer relationship building.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Program evaluation and analysis experience is a plus.
  • Must work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Possesses an intellectual curiosity and a passion for staying on top of latest trends in Team Science and methods for community engagement.
  • Must be highly skilled with Microsoft Office software.
  • Position will require occasional travel.
