University of Rochester Children¿s Heart Center at URMC - Clinical Nurse Specialist/APRN/Nurse Educator in Rochester, New York
Primarily responsible for education and knowledge/skill development of the PCCC staff. Participate in the orientation of new nursing staff and the ongoing education of the current staff. Facilitate formal educational offerings. Serve as a mentor and clinical resource at the bedside. Work with PCCC leadership team to develop educational goals based on identified learning needs. Provide consultation in the use of evidence based practice, critical thinking skills and ensuring quality patient care. MS degree in Nursing, current critical care experience (3 to 5 years minimum) and PALS certification required.
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
