Central Services Operations Manager

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Administrator, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Central Services Department. Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Central Services Supervisors and oversees the activities of CS Technicians.
Responsibilities:
Directs the activities of CS Supervisors. Establishes standards of work performance and methods of operation for the department. Inspects work activities to ensure workers are following prescribed procedures. Leads and supports Performance Improvement activities in the department. Ensures that personnel in preparing and handling sterile items employ aseptic techniques. Compiles periodic reports as necessary.
Ensures all Safety and Infection Control policies and procedures are adhered to. In conjunction with the CS Educator, assesses staff competency, actively promotes staff development. Works with the Administrator to meet target budget, actively seeking additional operational improvements and revenue enhancements.
Works proactively with Operating Room personnel for the quick resolution of potential issues. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions.
Oversees the staff scheduling process, with emphasis upon attendance issues, scheduling conflicts and appropriate ratio of staff to workload necessary for the overall work and prioritization of functions. Participate with the Administrator and Supervisors in planning for the future needs of the specific shift as a whole including but not limited to Personnel Needs, Program Development, Intradepartmental Relationships and Instrument/Equipment Needs.
Coordinates resources for problem identification and resolution ensuring the smooth operation of Central Services. Ensures that existing policies and procedures of Central Services are understood and adhered to by the personnel on his/her assigned shift.
Helps assess performance issues and appropriately works in partnership with Human Resources to resolve issues.
Assists the supervisors in employee evaluations, training, and ongoing education for the Central Services staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years supervisory experience in a hospital setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
IAHCSMM or CBSPD Central Sterile Processing Technician Certification or a substantially equivalent credential. Certification must be obtained within one year of hire if not currently certified.
3 years’ experience in a Sterile Processing environment.
1 year Supervisory/Management experience.
Well-developed organizational skills.
Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Able to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently.
Able to set and achieve challenging goals.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $ 62,200 - $ 93,300 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
