Position Summary:

The position involves providing a full range of audiologic diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients of all ages. Clinical work will be conducted in the Offsite Audiology Clinics at Clinton Woods, Lattimore Road, and at SMH.


The individual in this position reports to the Director of Audiology & Speech Pathology. The Audiology Licensure Applicant will have I 00% supervision from licensed and certified Audiologists. They will be assigned a weekly schedule with rotations through different functional areas of clinical activity (e.g. Diagnostics, Hearing Aids, Newborn Hearing Screening, ABR, CAP testing). As the Audiology Licensure Applicant develops the clinical skills necessary to provide services independently, direct supervision will be tapered off for some patients but will be available 100% of their working hours.

Responsibilities Include:

40%: Administer audiological tests to all patient populations. Testing will include but not be limited to: pure-tone testing, speech audiometry, tympanometry, auditory brainstem response testing, otoacoustic emissions testing, central auditory processing tests, and tinnitus evaluations.

40%: Provide rehabilitative services including hearing aid evaluations and fitting, hearing aid troubleshooting and repair, cochlear implant evaluation, mapping, and follow-up, and assistive listening devices.

20% Prepare clinical reports and departmental paperwork as required



  • B.A. or B.S. and current enrollment in an accredited Au.D. program with 3 years academic coursework and clinical practicum completed. NYS Interim dispensing licensure or eligibility required.


  • Ability to operate standard office machines and office computer programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint). Ability to learn computer programs related to electronic medical records and charge capture/schedule systems. Basic operating knowledge of standard audiologic diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures and related test equipment/materials. Must possess and maintain ability to pass required mandatory in-service and staff competency training.
