The Collaborative Care & Wellness Division of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry invites applications for a full-time Psychiatrist position as an Assistant Professor. We are recruiting for a candidate with outstanding clinical and supervisory skills with a focus on integrated team based care within the primary care setting.
The psychiatrist will provide consultation and supervision to members of the UR primary care teams across multiple practice sites. These teams include therapists, care managers, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners. This provider will be based primarily at the Complex Care Center, an innovative interdisciplinary primary care setting targeting adults with pediatric onset conditions, including, but not limited to intellectual and developmental disabilities, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, spina bifida, metabolic disorders, congenital heart disease, childhood cancers, myotonic dystrophy, and cerebral palsy and a Medical Group, an urban family practice targeting the Medicaid population. Patients seen at these practices will require psychiatric consultations to their collaborative care teams in areas of complex mood disorders, psychotic disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and comorbid complex medical conditions, among others.
The candidate is expected to provide direct clinical consultation through a variety of modalities including telephonic, telemedicine, to primary care teams, and direct patient face to face encounters. Applicants must possess a current NYS license and DEA number and be a board certified psychiatrist. I nterest in working in an evolving fully integrated program is required.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Board eligible psychiatrist
Active NYS license
Active DEA certification
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
Excellent communication skills. Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude.
Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence- based clinical recommendations.
