Responsibilities

General Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement for Golisano Children’s Hospital, the Associate Director of Advancement and Community Affairs is responsible for the oversight and strategic management of the third party events and Children’s Miracle Network Hospital Partnerships that are for the benefit of Golisano Children’s Hospital. The Associate Director will engage in fundraising, stewardship and communication and public relations activities. The Associate Director will oversee a volunteer committee that he/she will recruit and train to represent the hospital. Third party events and CMNH sponsors and programs usually raise over $1,000,000 per year (during non-covid years). The Associate Director will work with the Senior Director to properly steward and cultivate all community groups and CMNH sponsors to encourage increased fundraising throughout the year.

The Associate Director will also have regular contact with various professionals at the Golisano Children’s Hospital. These include the social workers, nurses, faculty and child life professionals.

The Associate Director will possess the following qualities;

    Specific Responsibilities:

    45% Third Party Community Events;

  • Review and engage best practices to guide third party events to success

  • Grow and encourage this important revenue stream

  • Recruit and train volunteers (including board members) to represent the hospital at various community events

  • Oversee and coordinate check presentations with Public Relations

  • Be the main point of contact for the community who seek to assist Golisano Children’s Hospital

    45% Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Sponsors and Programs liaison

  • Work directly with each sponsor to identify needs prior to their scheduled fundraising campaigns

  • Work with volunteer committees to schedule stewardship visits during the campaign

  • Follow up after each campaign to properly recognize individual employees as appropriate and steward each sponsor

  • Build upon the ExtraLife campaign through regularly scheduled communications (via Mission Control)

  • Participate in regularly scheduled CMNH webinars for updates and helpful communications

    10% Other duties as required by the Senior Director and as needed for the GCH office of Advancement.

    Basic Requirements:

    The Associate Director of Advancement must have a bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred and 5 -7 years of advancement experience at a University or College.
