Responsibilities

The Associate Director for Emergency Nursing is responsible for the coordination of care rendered to emergency patients so that delivery of care and utilization of services is seamless, efficient and effective. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, and in conjunction with the Chair of Emergency Medicine and other partners, the Associate Director coordinates operational planning, systems assessment and analysis, program development and information management. The Associate Director is responsible for planning, directing, controlling and evaluating the activities, functions, and management personnel of his/her clinical service area to ensure delivery of high quality patient care. The Associate Director is responsible for achieving a level of shared operational management between physicians and health care services by bringing together the resources necessary to continuously improve the delivery of emergency care.Registered Nurse with Master’s Degree in Nursing, MBA, MHA or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of seven years leadership-management experience in an academic medical center or tertiary setting. Emergency Nursing experience preferred.
