Responsibilities

Job Description:

The Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry is seeking one full-time academic faculty members at the Assistant Professor level to join established investigative teams working on clinical or epidemiological research funded through grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, or the New York State Department of Health. Depending on the background and interests of candidates, research opportunities include working on clinical trials through the NIAID-funded HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN), AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), and Vaccine Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU), clinical and epidemiological research through the CDC Emerging Infections Program, and/or community-based research through the Center for Community Practice. Clinical responsibilities include Infectious Diseases consultation and teaching in inpatient and outpatient settings at Strong Memorial Hospital and UR Medicine affiliates. This could also include telemedicine for acute inpatient care at affiliate hospitals or other remote hospitals.

Candidates must have completed fellowship training in Infectious Diseases

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. Degree or equivalent

  • Eligible for a New York State Medical License

  • Eligible for a Faculty Appointment at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

  • Eligible for Board Certification in Infectious Diseases

  • Post offer Drug Screen and Health Assessment required

  • Compliance with University and New York State health requirements
