The Department of Neurosurgery of the University of Rochester in partnership with the Cayuga Health System is seeking an experienced, spine - focused general Neurosurgeon to join the University of Rochester faculty working at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, New York. This is a terrific opportunity to join a very well-respected neurosurgeon in a beautiful, cosmopolitan town offering a collegial atmosphere, flexible schedule, great quality of life and a collaborative approach to patient care. Interests in minimally-invasive spine preferred but not required. The new surgeon will play an important role in the growth of a multidisciplinary spine center in Ithaca, New York and will work with faculty partners to seamlessly integrate the general neurosurgery offered in Ithaca with subspecialty programs which are currently positioned in Rochester.

This position will incorporate the general practice of Neurosurgery in Ithaca, New York with and program integration with the University of Rochester’s Department of Neurosurgery. Main Campus collaborations include the opportunity to participate in surgical, educational and research activities at the University of Rochester Medical Center; participation in skills labs and cadaver courses; faculty meetings and retreats; research and programmatic opportunities and participation in strategic initiatives designed to improve Neuroscience care in the region.

Candidate must have an MD degree (or equivalent) with board certification/board eligible in Neurosurgery. The applicant must be eligible for a NYS License.
