The Arthur Satz Department of Music at the University of Rochester invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track position as Director of Orchestral Activities, with an initial two-year appointment beginning July 1, 2023. The Director will conduct the University of Rochester Symphony Orchestra, currently a 100-person ensemble of students and community members, as well as the University of Rochester Chamber Orchestra, a 50-member all-student ensemble. The position will include classroom instruction as well, with one course per semester based on the interests and qualifications of the Director. Advance degree required; significant conducting experience in both professional and educational settings is highly desirable.
